December Guitar Hero World Tour DLC: The Eagles...and Some Other Stuff

Dec. 3 8:36 PM by coloradojoe1

Nirvana is overrated. There, I said it. I'm sick of Kurt Cobain being deified. Sure Nirvana was a good band, but just like any other group that has one of their members croak at a young age their musical influence has been overstated. Go ahead, send your hate emails. I could care less because I'll be getting it worse at home. My son will be busting my chops all week, he's a huge Nirvana fanboy.

Now how about The Eagles? There's a band deserving some love, and later this month they'll get just a little bit, in the form of having some songs available for download on Guitar Hero World Tour. "Life in the Fast Lane" and "One of These Nights" will be joining "Frail Grasp on the Big Picture", a song from their soon to be released new album.

Of course a GH:World Tour DLC press release wouldn't be complete without some new Nirvana (Cobain is the white Tupac, he's released more music after he died than when he was alive), so expect to see that later this month along with some Smashing Pumpkins and a free Christmas reggae track pack.

Weekly 360 and Wii Downloads: Banjo and More Space Invaders

Space Invaders is one of those classic games that never seems to get old. When I hit the greatest arcade in the planet at Weirs Beach, it was the one cabinet that I just couldn't stop going to. Three weeks ago gamers were able to download the original Space Invaders arcade classic to their Wii's. Today, you can try out the newest version, Space Invaders Get Even (500 Wii Points). Wii owners can also pick up Pit Crew Panic (800 points) and Metal Slug 2 (900 points).

And for 360 gamers? You get Banjo Kazooie (1200MS points)! Yeah, I know. I said it was coming out last week. Ooops. Hit the jump for all the details.

Over the next three days, GPArcade is going to guide you to the downloadable games you shouldn't miss. Every platform with arcade content - the Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, PC and mobile phones - is included. Today, we tackle the best DLC the PC and XBLA has to offer.

Weekly 360 and Wii Downloads: Banjo and Boogers

Nov. 24 6:30 PM by coloradojoe1

The original Banjo Kazooie and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (say that 3 times fast) on XBLA are the highlights of this week's downloadable games, but don't you dare forget about Boogerman: A Pick and Flick Adventure, available today for the Wii. I have no idea what this game is, but the name certainly got my attention.

But wait, there's more! Microsoft also announced today that Fable II DLC is coming our way December 12. The DLC will offer up some new adventures in a new locale, Knothole Island, for 800MS points. There's a few other goodies but their was nothing in the press release about new ways to bump up your Gamerscore. Sorry Achievement Point whores.

Hit the jump for all the fine print.
